Minimum Requirements to be a
Firefighter in Ontario may include:

Legally entitled to work
in Canada.

Minimum 18 years of age.
-
DZ license (must have
available a Statement of Driving Record from the
Ministry of Transportation).
-
20/30 uncorrected vision
with no significant abnormalities in colour vision.
-
Secondary School Diploma
or equivalent (must have documentation: i.e. diploma
or equivalency documents).
-
Basic CPR (Level C) and
Standard First Aid.
-
Excellent physical and
mental condition.
-
Ability to work as a
team member.
-
Ability to cope in high
stress situations.
-
Additional requirements
may be requested by individual Fire Departments.
Note: Firefighter Physical
Testing will be required upon conditional offer of
employment
