Police Constable - Testing Information

POLICE CONSTABLE - TESTING INFORMATION

The Ontario Ministry of Community of Safety and Correctional Services and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police have introduced the use of standardized tests in the initial screening of police officer applicants.

This process involves a series of four (4) tests, plus a Vision and Hearing screening, which are designed to indicate certain aptitudes and abilities of a career in policing.

The test battery consists of:

An Analytical test,
An English writing test,
A physical abilities test,
A behavioural assessment.

The first three (3) tests are delivered during stage I of the testing process.

Upon successful completion of Stage I testing, the fourth test, along with the Vision and Hearing screening, is delivered at Stage II.

Upon successful completion of Stage I and Stage II testing, you will receive an OACP Certification of Results.
