AODA - Special Accommodation for Learning Disabilities Testing

Special Accommodations for People with Disabilities:

The Ontario Human Rights Code requires that employers provide employment-related accommodation, short of undue hardship to the employer.  The assessment process is deemed to be employment-related, and as such, in the assessment process, assessor organizations have a duty to accommodate candidates.

Requests for accommodations must be addressed by the assessor organization on a case-by-case basis.  In order for a request for accommodation to be considered, it must be supported with a diagnosis by a qualified professional (e.g. physician, psychologist) with regard to the disability and professional advice as to what type of accommodation may be required.  The diagnosis should have taken place within the last 3 years.  You may provide this information by fax, mail or e-mail.

If you require consideration for special accommodations please indicate this when registering with ATS either online, by fax or telephone.  Documentation to support your request is to be forwarded to the General Manager, Applicant Testing Services.  Please do not forward any supporting documentation until you are requested to do so.

Be sure to allow enough time for ATS to receive your request, approve it and make the appropriate testing arrangements.

All information provided with respect to a special accommodations request will be handled in confidence.

Documents required by the AODA’s Customer Service Standards are available upon request (in alternate formats, as needed).
